Lost Lyrics

Lost Lyrics have been playing fast, trashy, hard & melodic punk type music for over 10 years now, going for slogan & cliche free lyrics that are thought provoking & sometimes ironic...

The band began in late 1990 with Holger (singer, guitarist), Basti (drummer) & Karsten (bassist). They practiced in Karsten's basement & would play shows at the Wolfhagen youth central. Some song samples were made and towards the beginning of 1991 a recording was sent out entitled simply enough, "L.L Tape". Three labels showed interest so they chose Hannover's Nasty Vinyl and in the summer of 1991 the 7" EP, "Days of Joy" was released. It was fairly well recieved & Stefan joined the band as second/first guitarist & they finally got to play places outside of Wolfhagen, gaining some additional live experience.

Their first tour & CD release was planned for 1992 and when Karsten left, Axel (Atze) Figge played bass for the "Some Things Never Change" tour. During this tour some guy named Zippy also called them asking them if they had a booking agent and when they said, "No" he announced that they now did if they'd like one as he'd received a tape of theirs from the Abs, a band they'd played with...

Their next CD, "Monday Morning's Alright for Party" in 1993, was a bit of a milepoint as it was recorded in a "professional studio", Very-Metal Studio. They then agreed to make a 7" EP for Hulk Räckorz in 1994. It was entitled "Trauerspiele" and being in German, it was a bit of an experiment that happily was successfully recieved & was shortly followed by the "Gang Bang" EP.

In 1995, Stefan & Axel left & Torsten became the new bass player. A trio again, they released "Rotzlöffel" in November on Hulk, again in German and this time for good. This was followed by a tour and in December of 1996, "Man Spricht Deutsch" came out and Matze joined as yet another new bass player (clearly a job with a high turnover rate!)

1998 was a quiet year as work & school kept Holger and Matze busy so Basti filled his time celebrating the 50's, playing Elvis numbers with other Kasseler musicians. So in 1999, a project of the year was planned and it's title was "Seniorenresidenz". It is of course just the thing to make even the grumpiest of old people to want to get up & mosh? Dance? Play bumper cars with their wheelchairs? It was also released on Hulk, this time as CD only.

Many shows, many years, many experiences... for a band that considers the band a hobby, they have done alot! Their newest CD is "Vor Allem" and was released in 2002. -Mikki 9/02
