Eva Band, also known only as EVA, is a band of Brazilian axé music. Initiated in 1980 only as a carnival group, Eva, as it was just called, had in front of important singers like Luiz Caldas, Daniela Mercury, Ricardo Chaves and Durval Lelys, lead singer of Eagle Wing. In 1993 the carnival group officially became a band when Ivete Sangalo took over the vocals and the newly formed group officially signed with Universal Music
